Happy Father’s Day.
One of the nice things about doing humor research is that I get to do fun interviews with fancy media outlets, such as NPR. They called this week to talk about dad jokes.
There is a tendency to make fun of dads and their jokes. However, one thing that came up in the interview is how dad jokes are a good thing. I agree.
My parents were divorced when I was young, and my father died when I was in my twenties. And to be honest, I wish I had more dad jokes in my life. So, instead of criticizing your dad for telling corny jokes, perhaps today would be a good day to encourage him.
