The Humor Research Lab launches it’s own humor website.

One day in HuRL, the Humor Research Lab, we were talking about our favorite sites on the Cheezburger Network (my favorite is FailBook, in case you care). Among other reasons, we decided that as scientist who study humor, we should be able to build a successful humor website.

The team brainstormed a bunch of ideas and narrowed it down to two (that were not already on the information superhighway): 1) PimpedOutClunkers.com and 2)FunnyPoliceReports.com.

And the winner is…..

http://www.FunnyPoliceReports.com/

Update (2/18/2010) The mighty Cheezburger network told the world about us and crashed our server.

If you check it out, you may see some of my favorite reports:

A “psychotic woodchuck” chased police officers on patrol on the Amherst bike path, forcing officers to open fire. The animal ran off into the woods.

A West Shore resident reported that a raccoon in her back yard refused to leave and her children were concerned that the Easter Bunny wouldn’t be able to come to the house, at 7:47 P.M.

A woman said someone was “molesting the side of her house” around 11 p.m.

A vehicle was stuck in a pile of leaves on Carpenter Avenue

Someone called about a Metro Bus on Niagara Falls Boulevard because its message board had said, “Call the police.” The sign had malfunctioned.

Thanks to HuRL, and special thanks to Ryan Brauchler and Robert Keenan for making the site.
